This course teaches the student the basic techniques to safely handcuff and control a suspect. You will learn the proper handcuffing techniques to reduce liability and enhance security officer safety.The course focuses on the defensive mindset, types of handcuffing subjects, handcuff selection, handcuff maintenance, immobilization, tactical considerations, civil liability, mechanics of handcuffing, handcuff procedures for standing and kneeling, handcuffing on the weak-side, searching, wrist lock takedowns, and use of force considerations.
