This 2-hour course will include lecture and weapons handling. Topics covered will be the laws regarding possession and carrying firearms, laws and standards regarding the use of deadly force, avoidance of deadly force, the de-escalation of force and civil and criminal liability, firearm nomenclature and maintenance, four basic firearms safety rules, range safety, home firearms safety, the elements of pistol marksmanship. Practical application will consist of practical scenario training after weapons handling and weapons qualification.
